God Will Make A Way

As believers, at one time or another, we all have experienced moments in which there appears to be no way out. You’ve probably heard the expression “caught between a rock and hard place.” Well, we’ve all been there and found ourselves in impossible situations. One of my favorite stories in the Bible is found in Exodus 13-14 about the crossing of the Red Sea. Notice Exodus 13:17-18, where it says that “God did not lead them on the road through the Philistine country, though that was shorter . . . So God led the people around by the desert road toward the Red Sea.” As God led His people, He chose to do so with a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. When the pillar moved, they moved. When the pillar stopped at the Red Sea, that’s where God’s people made camp. They soon discovered that Pharaoh was coming up fast behind them with all of his chariots, horses, and soldiers. The children of Israel were hemmed in – the Red Sea was before them, mountains were on both sides, and their enemy was behind them. God’s people were trapped with no way out and no way forward. Or so it seemed.Remember that it was God who led the people toward the Red Sea. The Lord knew precisely what He was doing, but the people were in full panic mode. Fear set in because they had taken there eyes off the presence of God and saw only their surroundings. All they could see was their impossibility. Here’s a wonderful truth to hold onto: “There’s never any panic in heaven, only plans.” God was in control and had the people right where He wanted them. Suddenly, the angel of the Lord moved from before the people to behind the people. Then it happened: God parted the sea, His children walked on dry ground, He wiped out the enemy, and God got ALL the glory. When faced with the impossible, our focus must remain on Him. God led them in a way so that they would learn to trust Him. He does the same for us. Sometimes we act on our own and move outside of God’s will and try to figure things out. Then, there are times in which God may put us in a situation where there is no immediate answer. Trust Him with every step. He loves you and desires to glorify Himself in and through your life. Whatever circumstance or difficulty you find yourself in, trust God with your whole life. God loves us and delights in the impossible. Remember the words to an old song: “God will make a way, when there seems to be no way.
