The Book of Psalms is a compilation of songs that focus on humanity’s interaction with God. Within these interactions, we discover God’s character as the songwriter speaks of God as a Shepherd, a King, a Redeemer, a Creator, Just, Holy, and more. These songs give us deeper insight into God and how we are to relate to Him as His creation. We find that He loves us and offers the opportunity to be His people and that doing so comes with the expectation of living in light of that relationship.

The focus of this study is on the character of God as revealed in selected Psalms. As we get a glimpse of God’s character, we’ll begin to understand our need for forgiveness and what it means to live as God’s people, demonstrating His character in a fallen world.

“What Two Sisters Teach Us About Combating Comparison”

Group Leader: Jennifer Kuhn
Location: Fellowship Hall

Why her?  How many times have you asked yourself that question? How many times have you felt like you couldn’t measure up no matter how hard you tried?

We’ve all been there.

Over the course of this study, you will uncover truths you need to arm yourself with when combatting comparison by studying the biblical account of Rachel & Leah. Learn to be content without becoming complacent, and discover godly wisdom to quiet the incessant Why Her? question in your head. Develop greater awareness of your insecurities, and learn to stop the lies in their tracks. Because the truth will set you free, and free women don’t have to measure up to anyone. Not even her.

Special Note:  This is a companion study to what the youth girls are studying about “Rachel & Leah” in Youth Sunday School.

This is a continuation of a study from Fall, 2021, so join us as we look at the many facets of the “Spirit World.”  In this study, we will exploring what God’s Word says about the Holy Spirit that has indwelt our lives the moment we are saved.  In fact, we will discover how important the Holy Spirit is and how He defends us as we encounter Spiritual Warfare.  We’ll also see what the Bible says about Angels and their role in this world, as well Satan and His demonic forces.  We’ll explore what the Word says about Heaven & Hell, False teachers & prophets, as well as evils such as spiritism, the occult, fortune-telling, witchcraft, etc.   Through it all, we will find that God has a wonderful, eternal plan for His children and look at the New Heaven and New Earth.  We hope to see you.

Are you weary? Worn out by the bills that keep stacking, a virus that keeps raging, or a heart that keeps aching? If so, the book of Esther brings welcome news: Relief will come!

To be clear, you didn’t ask for this struggle. You want to get past it. You don’t know how much longer you can hold up. But what if God is with you in this difficult season? When life seems off the rails, remember this truth: the minute you bow your head to pray is the moment God lifts his hand to help.

Queen Esther learned this truth firsthand. When confronted with a royal decree that would annihilate her people, she had to make some tough choices. Would she remain silent in the face of this challenge, or would she speak up? Would she blend in, or would she stand out? But after Esther spent three days in prayer and fasting, God gave her the courage to speak up. God used her to save the nation. And God can do the same with you.

A Soul Refiner Series Study

Group Leader: Jeff Chamblee & Joe Worthy
Location: Conference Room

What you do in life becomes history, but what you put into motion becomes your legacy. A Legacy is about promise, potential, and purpose and is cemented in God desires for a holy generation.  Since God is a God of redemption and love always redeems, our children may not always listen to us, but they will always imitate us.  A good family legacy is evidenced by how much we imitate Christ and how we represent God in every aspect of our lives.  Join us as we learn how to more deeply follow Christ and live in a way that can cause the next generation to follow Him.

A David Jeremiah Study

Group Leader: Eugene Heimbach
Location: Room 405

Every miracle Jesus performed met a need in someone’s life and revealed another unique facet of faith. Whether the need was for food, for health, to reverse death, or to bring nature under control, Jesus met the need and proved that trusting Him was the foundation for a blessed life. We will be journeying through a dozen of Jesus’ most powerful miracles and discover how, not only the faith of those involved is strengthened, but how our faith and walk with Christ can be strengthened as well.
